Toolbar

The toolbar contains icons and buttons that provide quick access to the available tools for the screen.

As the dashboard is context-sensitive, you might see different icons and buttons in the toolbar, depending on the data in the main content area.

All tools in the toolbar are driven by the schema, which means that each of them can be removed. So, you have the ability to show or hide components in the toolbar, and save that particular view as a profile. The standard tool functions are listed below.

These are the standard icons on the toolbar. You may see any combination of these icons, or auxiliary icons, based on your current context in On Key.

Buttons

The buttons on the toolbar are also based on your context in the system. You might not have any buttons on the toolbar but typically you could have an Edit button or a Details button, for example.

When you click a button on the toolbar, it will always open a side panel within the dashboard that contains content relative to the context of the button, except for the Details button, which navigates from the dashboard to a different screen.

These are the typical examples of buttons you could see on the toolbar. However, you could see a variation, based on where you are in On Key.

  1. Overview
  2. The Overview button displays the linked details on a record. On a work order, for example, clicking Overview will display the work order tasks with their resources, spares and meters information. The data being viewed changes according to the record that's selected in the grid.

  3. View
  4. The View button will display information that is read-only. You cannot edit this data, you can only view it. An example of where the View button is applicable is on the work order meter.

  5. Edit
  6. When you click the Edit button, editable information displays. So, if you want to change the information on a work order, for example, you select the record in the grid and click Edit. You are able to edit and save the record from this view. Alternatively, you could also double-click the record to open the edit screen and modify the record.

  7. Details
  8. The Details button will display a list of records that you've selected in the grid. You can perform the same actions in the Details view as you would in the Edit view. However, the Details view allows you to work on batch of records.

Say you want to edit records but you only want to work with a certain batch at present. You would then select all applicable records in the grid and click Details. From the Details view, you navigate away from the dashboard and are able to edit a specific subset of records in isolation. Then, click the title of the dashboard in the breadcrumb trail to return to the dashboard.

  9. Readings
  10. Readings are the details of a meter. If you click the Readings button, you will see the readings information for the selected record in the grid. The readings information could be presented as a chart, a grid or a combination of different visualisations.

  11. Preview
  12. The Preview button provides the ability to preview the file. On a work order, for example, clicking preview will preview the selected file attached.
