    • Day 2's contact sessions will cover maintenance work management modules 05, 06 and 07:

      • The Execution and Feedback Process
      • Planning Activities
      • Scheduling Activities and Backlog

The module Execution and Feedback Process dives into the explanation of daily allocation as well as the roles and responsibilities for scheduling and daily work management. It also looks at the benefits of visual work order tracking systems and how the planner tracks the work execution process. It discusses the concept of work order feedback and its impact of optimising future planning and scheduling. This module also explains the impact of master data maintenance work and the importance of work order feedback for maintaining master data while distinguishing between capturing of information, analysis of information and feedback of information. After examining these concepts, it explores how these can be used to continuously improve planning, scheduling and work execution.

The module Planning Activities describes the core activities of an effective planner while explaining the importance and benefits of effective scoping work. It explores the decisions made to create an effective scope of work detail in order to ensure appropriate skills identification for work execution. It teaches learners to make decisions based on bills of materials, OEM manuals and system master data to identify appropriate spare parts, special tools and specialised resources for planning work packages. This module also critically evaluates the various elements of a work package and suggest improvements.

The Scheduling Activities and Backlog module describes the concept of scheduling work and explains the different relationships between work and the optimal utilisation of manpower. It focuses on the prioritisation, sorting and allocation of work for optimal scheduling logistics. The module reviews the priority requirements and schedule work from the backlog while distinguishing between scheduling and daily allocation. It explains the importance of the scheduling meeting and the schedule release and also dives into the application of good scheduling practice to achieve optimal benefits for the organisation.

You will need to download the slides to your computer before each contact session so that you have it on hand as a resource during the contact session.
